We are currently seeking a full time Dealership Accountant to join our very busy and highly varied Victoria Finance Team based in Burwood. 

About the opportunity:

This role would suit a qualified accountant ready to take the next step in their career. Due to the nature of this busy role, a positive attitude with a hands-on approach is required. The successful candidate will undertake the below:

• Preparation of the monthly management accounts in an accurate and timely manner, and in accordance with accounting standards
• Extensive balance sheet reconciliations
• Reporting and analysis of P&L statements
• Assist in the statutory tax reporting namely, GST, LCT, FBT and PAYG
• Cash flow management
• Internal controls
• Assist in external audit preparation/requirements
• Manufacturer reporting
• Annual budgeting and forecasting
• Senior leader able to help manage centralised accounts functions
• Work on projects where necessary as directed by the VIC Financial Controller
• Effective communication with dealer principals, managers, employees and other key stakeholders from various departments

About you:

Success in this role is demonstrated by delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and maintaining strong attention to detail across all accounting functions. You will demonstrate:

• An experienced Accountant with proven skills of 2 years in a similar capacity
• Accounting Degree and/or CPA/CA qualified is preferred
• Automotive Dealership background not essential, but desirable
• Experience with Auto IT Dealer Management System (Units) would be desirable
• An ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
• Strong communication skills both within a department and with stakeholders in the broader business
• Strong attention to detail and high analytical skills
• Advanced Excel skills
